Safety

TACC Construction is committed to provide a safe and healthy work environment for all its employees. From the frontline workforce to the CEO, it is the responsibility of every employee to ensure everyone gets home safely to their families each and every day. The goal is always to achieve zero incidents throughout the year, which can only be realized when people work together safely and take the time to watch out for each other.

TACC maintains a rigorous safety policy and holds every employee accountable on all projects. Employees participate in industry safety programs and yearly supervisor and worker training. Training is also provided in First Aid, CPR and Automated External Defibrillator. In addition, safety equipment and resources are upgraded as required and there is an ongoing commitment to improve work procedures and policies.

TACC is an active member of the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association and as such, employees attend a number of safety training seminars and events. Supervisors attend OSWCA Civil Management Construction Seminars, taking courses, accredited by the Canadian Construction Association, that lead to Gold Seal certification. Also, TACC participates in the COR safety audit program that helps identify any potential weaknesses in our approach to safety.

In an effort to recognize efforts in safety, TACC hosts an annual Safety Awareness and Awards Presentation for all employees. Management, IHSA, Union, Ministry of Labour and other safety representatives participate to help reinforce TACC’s strong commitment to safety. TACC Service Safety Awards are presented to honour employees who have consecutive years of no loss time injuries. This annual event recognizes the eagerness of the workforce to ensure an ongoing awareness of a safe work environment.
